MAP TO LAWRENCE PARK

Despite how the media has portrayed the April 15th gatherings, the success of the Morgan City Tea Party has created inspiration amongst local citizens to propose monthly two hour "Town Square Gatherings

These gatherings will offer opportunity for all area citizens to come together in voicing opinions on current events - should they be on a local or national level.  As opposed to City Council meetings, which mostly revolve around localized administrative issues, these are intended to be open forums, with no particular agenda.

That said, as a result of the successful grass roots effort on the 15th, local concerned citizens are gathering again this weekend (The 25th of April at Lawrence Park from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon.

!! FBI PERSONNEL ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO ATTEND !!

!! COME ONE COME ALL !!

The meetings will be non-partisan, and are not backed by, nor endorsed by special interest groups, or business concerns.

This is a truly grass-roots effort to educate the public on current events, with opportunity for all viewpoints to be discussed on matters that are affecting us all.  These are not intended to be public debates, but a means for citizens to gather together and voice their opinions in a peaceful manner, while espousing our Consitutional Rights of Free Speech and Assembly.

While not backed by special interest groups or political parties, a matter of course, anyone who wishes to disseminate information regarding the same is more than welcome to. It is encouraged that these be opened by a local pastor, revolving amongst the various local denominations, in order to kick these off with a short prayer for our
country and civility, keeping in mind that these are not intended to be religious revival meetings.

One topic that is already being considered for discussion and dissemination is the topic of the Federal Reserve System. While that is a topic of a national level, with concerns shared by citizens on a national level, localized concerns are also welcome topics of discussion.

Open mike will once again be made available on a first-come-first-served basis.
